About the Program
Your DNA holds so many answers – some that we know about, and some we have yet to discover. This is why we are passionate about offering the Baylor College of Medicine IMAGINE Research Program. The IMAGINE Program aims to enroll over 120,000 Baylor College of Medicine patients to increase our knowledge of genetic influence on disease and our health through research, with the hope of leading the way on key discoveries. Through a simple blood draw, the program can gain insights into your genetics that lead to personalized care recommendations for you and your family and our community. DNA will help us lead to a healthier future, today.
Who is eligible to join?
Anyone age 18 or older who has been to a Baylor Medicine location for services.
How can I join?

Here Is How to Enroll:

You will be contacted with options to complete your blood sample collection. The research sample collection is at no-cost to you.

Results will be made available in your Baylor Medicine medical record. If you have a clinically actionable finding, our study team will contact you directly. You may be offered a letter to share with your care teams, and in some cases, a no-cost genetic counseling session with a trained professional to help you better understand your results.
Once you participate, there may be other study opportunities that you may be eligible for. You may be asked to complete voluntary surveys that will directly help our research team and medical community.
Our Mission
As an academic medical center, advancing our understanding of research while providing state of the art medicine is what we strive for. Our goal is to use the information collected in this study to provide you with personalized care recommendations unique to you, and learn about diseases and their genetic influence to develop new ways to provide care.
The IMAGINE Research Program is not a replacement for seeing your doctor. IMAGINE is a research program whose purpose is to seek and find genetic contribution to illness; to advance knowledge of genomic medicine; and to provide new and improved treatments — and even possibly future cures — for disease. IMAGINE is not a clinical program designed to monitor your individual care, but could contribute to your care in the future. All patients, whether an IMAGINE Research Program participant or not, should consult directly with their doctors or other regular care providers if they have any concerns related to family history or genetic illnesses to get appropriate screening and treatment.
